All Students & Chaperones are the same price with educational school groups.
- Teachers and school or commercial bus drivers are complimentary.
- Everyone pays the same rate including bus drivers and teachers for schools doing overnight packages
- Complimentary tickets are only good for the individual it is issued to (i.e. Teacher or Bus driver) and cannot be used for another person.
- School group rates are available only to organized school groups of 20 or more paying students with reservations.
- Schools must collect in advance the groups’ money and pay in a lump sum for the entire group.
- School groups are not taxable in Alabama when purchases are made in one payment by the organization.

Special school group packages are offered only the months of December thru February. The Package includes a special “hands on” class about cave exploring by using two caving simulators, our Cave Crawl Box & Cave Wall Climb. In the cave they will study cave hydrology, geology and archeology. A special surface tour is given to explain how caves are formed. They follow surface rain water into the caverns and do acid experiments on the limestone. The class experiences a special lantern lit tour of the caverns – this is the way the early explorers use to see the cave. Specific lesson plans and Alabama State Course of Study Objectives available upon request. Class lasts 3 hrs.

"BONES" DESOTO CAVERNS *NEW* |
Introducing our newest Field Trip package. Solve a Pre-historic Mystery, 170 feet Underground. This exciting new program allows your students to practice their paleontology skills to solve the mystery of the missing pre-historic creature- a creature whose remains were actually discovered in Desoto Caverns decades ago.
Your students will exercise their classroom skills (math/language arts/science) to discover the location of the skeletal remains of a pre-historic creature. They will participate in a “dig” to unearth its remains and use their new found paleontology skills to analyze the evidence, formulate a theory and draw their conclusions in determining the identity of the creature found at the bottom of Desoto Caverns. “Bones: Desoto Caverns” is a special 2 hour, “touchable” educational experience designed for students in grades 1-8. Students are encouraged to wear “after school” clothes. Specific lesson plans and Alabama State Course of Study Objectives available upon request.
This Package is offered December through March.
